Brett G. does excellent work, in fact he's been cutting my hair for quite a while now, and I've followed him from salon to salon over the years because I'm always happy with the results...looks good getting out of the chair and grows in well over the next few weeks, the true test of a good haircut. Rage has a great, fun atmosphere, and there are some nice touches like complementary coffee, muffins, fruit, candy, etc. If you're anything less than completely satisfied with your last haircut, you should go over to Rage and talk to Brett. I know a couple of girls that go to Brett as well, and they rave about his other work (color, etc.). I can't speak to that but the cuts are always dead-on.
Pros: Friendly staff, great haircuts, hip (but not TOO hip) atmosphere.
Cons: Parking lot is small but street parking is available.

I decided on a whim to get my hair chopped off, and called in the morning. I think they are the only salon in Campbell that is open on Mondays! I got an appointment with Brett, who is new there, that same day. He was great! I am usually pretty trusting when getting my hair cut, I know that can be a scary thing! I told him I wanted short and we chatted and agreed on a style, and I left the rest up to him! He was very friendly, and not the "awkward" friendly you feel sometimes when stylists feel like they have to keep conversation going. It was very reasonably priced too! I will definitely go back to see him again!

great color, cut, and awesome service. she knew exactly what i wanted and the communication was great. i had katelyn cut my hair and she was great. i would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a hair cut

I just gave her a brief explanation and she nailed it. I am very particular with who cuts my hair. I am very happy with it and I get a lot of compliments. I can wear it different ways, it is very versatile. She is an easy going, sweet, and talented stylist. I would definitely go back to her again. She also cut my hair in a reasonable amount of time. I love her!

I have been going here (and it's out of my way, believe me!) for three years! My hair is fine, blonde and pretty much, on a daily basis, just sits there! I don't get in to get it cut very often- and am surprised that for, up to 6 months after a cut- the cut still looks good (even if the ends do NOT!) I am- like everyone it seems - a very busy person- and love that I get something that looks good and really defines wash and go at the same time! I also love that I have NEVER been pressured to buy products, but she's always up for recommendations IF (and only if- that's key!) I ask ( :

I recommend Paige and can't wait to go see her again for my appointment next month!
I have a very restrictive work schedule, so when I called in for an appointment this week I was worried I wouldn't be able to fit one in. The woman who answered the phone was incredibly nice, and made sure she found someone who could do my hair ASAP. I have not been kind to my hair over the last year. I am kind to my hair in the sense that I don't blow dry it unless I am going out, I am not gonna damage my hair in that way. However, I neglected to get regular trims and update my hairstyle. I went in today with my hair down to my belly button and split ends up the yin yang. My hair is hard to manage because it is thick, coarse and rebels against anything I do to it. Today was completely different. Paige did long layers exactly, let me say that again, EXACTLY how I wanted. She took the time to make sure my hair was perfect, but she didn't take TOO long. She knows what she's doing. By the way, the prices range from $40 - 65 for a simple cut depending on who you go to. Make sure to ask what their price is and if they take credit cards/cash whatever since it's different with each stylist.

My hair was pretty fried due to chemical straightening and me dying my own hair. Michelle was able to get my hair color perfect, it looks dead on my natural color and she really made it look healthy again without having to chop it all off! I will be coming back to see Michelle again and again! She rocks!

This was my second time coming here and had my hair cut by Sara B. and she has just confirmed my experience with this salon as incredible! I've tried various other places including Faux, but have found that Rage does exactly what you want and for a much more reasonable price. I also think its important to note that as a guy looking for a punky haircut, it makes the quest that much more difficult, which is why I plan on sticking around with this place, and highly recommend Sara to do your styling. Also, making appointments is very easy, as they return messages and are willing to work with your schedule to fit you in with available stylists.

just the setting as you walk through the front door makes you feel right at home. There's a tv with a coffee pot with freshly brewed coffee and tastey creamer :-) There's also water and tea if that's your drink of choice. Lots of magazines on the table with a really cool couch to sit on. Everyone who works there looks really down to earth, friendly and inviting. I had Meg do my hair today and she was awesome!!! She brushed my hair, washed and deep conditioned it with their awesome product Bumble Bumble (I hope that was the name of it :-). I then got a head message and a hot towel wrap for my head-------I've never had any of that done at any place before so I was a little nervous at first and then it was just so relaxing. And Meg is great to just chat with cause I've never really liked talking to anyone while thy were doing my hair because it's always seemed so impersonal but I just felt like I was actually respected and ...it felt simply genuine. This made my afternoon cause I was honestly not really having that great of a day and was dreading the haircut more than waiting for it, but I was impressed. I would recommend this place to EVERYONE. It's a little more expensive than other hair salon places and it varies per stylist, but that's what's so cool about it because each individual is an actual stylist and they do more than just hair. They do makeup and nails and stuff too!!!! It's just great it really is so stop going wherever you are and start going to RAGE HAIR SALON!!!!!!!!

I swear I feel BETTER when I've been there. =) Rage is a darling salon, uses the best products, and has a great group of stylists. Jordan is incredible and he makes you feel like you're his only client.

After years of changing, switching, and trying out new salons I finally found my place. I love Rage. They have great people working here, the receptionists, and stylists are both great. My main girl is Courtney and she is AWESOME. She knows whats right for me and my hair. She's an absolute perfectionist, unlike many other stylists who have several clients at a time; therefore rushing through missing spots etc. She is very reasonably priced for what great work she does. I also have gotten up-do's here also from different girls and they were great too! I highly reccomend. Oh and don't be decieved from the outside. It's kind of a weird house like place transformed into a studio. But its great inside. Also a carrier of Bumble & Bumble! Love it!

After spending several months trying out hair places in San Jose that were often too pretentious for their own good, I finally stumbled upon Rage from a coworker's recommendation. One day at work, I was complaining about yet another butchered haircut (because, as I like to put it, I don't have typical "white people" hair since it's so thick and coarse-- damn those Eastern European roots) my optimistic and thick, curly-haired counterpart mentioned Courtney at Rage who cuts her monstrosity. I figured it was worth a shot so I made an appointment and headed down to dreamy Campbell. The salon is located in a house that's a lot larger on the inside than it appears from the street. Lots of copper-colored walls, purple draped ceilings and funky carpets that match the personalities of the funkier employees. They even have fruit in case you get hungry while waiting. Who doesn't love an unexpectedorange? Anyway, the reason I like this place and the reason I keep going back is because of Courtney. Not only is she good at what she does (and totally affordable), but she's extremely fun and a great conversationalist. She knows that my hair grows fast and will look completely different in two weeks and cuts it accordingly, not just for the moment. And she tells me when my suggestions will look bad-- I appreciate that. The only thing to keep in mind is since all the people rent their stations, you can only pay with cash or checks. As part of a generation that relies on its ATM card for everything, I always pray that I brought my checkbook by the time I pull into the parking lot.

I have driven past so many times and always wondered about that little salon that looks like a house near the pruneyard.. finally I decided to take the plunge. The location is great, parking can be a bit tough sometimes but I have never had to walk more than a block from where i park. Inside they are always bustling, good music playing nice color scheme and snacks/coffee waiting for you by the door. I have had some horrible hair experiences in the past and it took me ages to find a stylist i could trust.. thankfully i was set up with Sara B the adorable blonde with talent, spunk, style and charisma!! From the very first appointment with her, my hair has taken new shape, the color is long lasting and brilliant and I get compliments from all over the country on my hair cuts. yay! She also takes timeout to advise me on what products to use and how to style my hair for myself if I have a special event coming up. Really personalized service. Sadly I am moving away to los angeles next week but I so plan to fly back to san jose to get my cuts with Sara.. either that or steal her away to los angeles!! I have had cuts all over the country, Chicago, Seattle, New York etc.. nothing compares to what Sara B does for me.

She has cut my hair twice, in 12/07 and on 5/08 and both times I left loving the way my hair looked. The first time I saw her, my hair was long (almost to my waist) and it is thick and wavy and frizzy towards the ends. I wasn't quite ready to cut it short, but I needed help to not make it feel or look so heavy. She gave me a great layered cut while keeping the long length. This more recent time, I was ready to cut 8+ inches off. I can't believe how much lighter my head feels. Katia listened as I explained to her what I wanted (part off center with bangs, layering) and she gave me a cut even better than I imagined. The best part is that if I don't bother to style it, it still air dries nicely. Katia is a talented stylist and I would highly recommend her. Her biz card mentions that she specializes in curly hair as well.

Had my hair done by Meg a few weeks ago. It's super dark and I was going lighter and I really appreciated her advice and expertise. It took nearly 4 hours, but she was super laid back and easy to talk to, and you can really tell all the stylists really get along. The prices were also some of the best I've seen in the area. They have bumble and bumble products, which is also a big plus!

And I highly recommend her! Seriously I am so picky about my hair. She does exactly what you want her to do. And she really cares about how you'll look. She will suggest what really will work for you. I always walk out loving my hair.
